Over the Centuries the wisdom of the Rose Cross Order has continually been adapted to the times, places, and conditions in which it manifests.
In modern times the institution of the Rose Cross Order is legally recorded as a "Non-Profit Cultural Fraternity", and has an administrative structure that assures its legal standing and effective operation.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE of the Rose Cross Order is composed of a Board of Directors, known throughout the world as the "Sovereign Council of the Rose Cross Order". This Board is democratically elected every seven years at a General Meeting known as the "Magisterial Conclave" under conditions established by the Order's Traditional Statutes and Regulations.

However, in addition to the administrative structure that legalizes and assures the sound operation of the institution, the Rose Cross Order has been an esoteric and initiatory Order over the ages. Accordingly, it also has a traditional structure for the preservation and transmission of the authentic Rosicrucian teachings, its symbols and ceremonies, using modern language and facilities made available by modern technology.
THE TRADITIONAL STRUCTURE of the Rose Cross Order is composed of Officials chosen by, and serving at the pleasure of, the Sovereign Council. It is their task to preserve and transmit the Rosicrucian teachings to members of the Rose Cross Order in accordance with established traditions as explained in these pages.
It is important for everyone to know that the Rose Cross Order is a Fraternity in the broadest sense of the word. All members of the Order have the same rights and opportunity of choosing, or being chosen, to participate as administrative Officials of the Rose Cross Order, according to their own preparation, personal development, and impersonal service to the Order, its Fraters and Sorors, and all humanity.
Those who are elected as Rosicrucian Officials, in accord with the Office they will hold, and the level to which it corresponds, are distinguished from other members of the Rose Cross Order only with regard to the works of aid and service that they have assumed..
