Andrea Libavius. 1616
D.O.M.A. Wohlmeinendes Bedencken, Von der Fama,
und Confession der Brüderschafft defl ReosenCreutzes.
(D.O.M.A. Very insightful observations about the Fama and the Confessio of the Fraternity of the Rosicrucians).
This book constitutes a critical overview of the Rosicrucian Manifestos Fama Fraternitatis and Confessio. Written by Andreas Libavius, one of those seemingly "critical" of the Rosicrucian. But it is known that he knew and was a personal friend of the Rosicrucian Grand Master Johan Valentine Andreae.
Libavius was perhaps not as "critical" of the Rosicrucians as it appeared because, in addition to his friendship with J.V. Andreae, he was a brilliant alchemy pupil of Paracelso.
This work, published in Frankfurt, Germany in the year 1616, is one of the bibliographic jewels in the documental archives of the Sovereign Headquarters of the Rosicrucian Order. |
